Finally, recovering your amplicons for sizing or sequencing is possible with Countable PCR

Countable PCR lets you recover your amplified DNA

Most PCR workflows aren’t built for recovering your PCR products for downstream applications like size confirmation or sequencing.

Standard digital or droplet digital PCR platforms destroy or trap your amplicons after the run. You have no way to confirm it’s the correct amplicon, or to use the material for downstream steps like NGS reflex testing.

Countable’s single-tube workflow solves that. The Countable Matrix protects DNA throughout cycling. After amplification, you clean up the sample — SPRISelect is our go-to reagent for this step. Even long fragments (up to 1 kb amplicons) remain intact and ready for downstream analysis.

How to you use your recovered amplicons

You have many options once you recover the DNA from the Countable PCR matrix:

  • Check product size on a Tapestation or Bioanalyzer so you have confidence that you amplified the right product (Figure 1)
  • Use the same reaction for NGS library prep
  • Troubleshoot anomalies — such as primer dimers — using the original sample

Figure 1. Electropherogram from Tapestation analysis of DNA recovered post-Countable PCR of an NGS library. Amplicons remain intact—including fragments ≥620 bp — and are ready for downstream QC.

This isn’t just about convenience — it’s about preserving your work. With Countable PCR, you don’t have to choose between digital precision and downstream flexibility.
